We’re incredibly proud to share that Parkstone Bay Marina has been awarded the Sustainable Marina Award at the 2026 Yacht Harbour Association Marina of the Year Awards.

The award was presented at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show and recognises the significant work undertaken at Parkstone Bay over the past 12 months to improve our environmental performance and make sustainability an increasingly important part of how we operate.

Sustainability in action at South Deep

At the heart of our award entry was the refurbishment of the South Deep kitchen, which provided us with an opportunity to look beyond simply improving the appearance and functionality of the space and consider how we could make the operation more sustainable.

The project included a complete overhaul of the kitchen's back-of-house operation, with a particular focus on improving efficiency, reducing waste and making better use of resources.

The improvements at South Deep formed part of a much wider programme of environmental initiatives across Parkstone Bay, demonstrating how sustainability can be incorporated into both major projects and everyday operations.

Over the past few years, this has included continued investment in:

  • Solar panels, helping us generate renewable energy on site

  • EV charging facilities, supporting the transition to electric vehicles

  • LED lighting, reducing energy consumption across the marina

  • Improved recycling and waste management

  • A dedicated washdown area, helping us manage water and prevent pollutants entering the environment

  • The introduction of HVO fuel for our marina operations, reducing the carbon impact of our operational vehicles and equipment

Alongside these initiatives, we have continued our work towards maintaining high environmental standards across the marina, culminating in our Clean Marina accreditation.

Recognition of a wider commitment

The Sustainable Marina Award is particularly important to us because it recognises the practical steps we have taken over the last year to make a difference.

Rather than sustainability being treated as a standalone project, we are working to build it into the way we operate across Parkstone Bay Marina and the wider business – from the way we use energy and manage waste to the investments we make in our facilities.

We’re delighted that the Yacht Harbour Association recognised these efforts and the work undertaken through the South Deep project.

The journey continues

Winning the award is a fantastic milestone, but we see it as recognition of the progress we have made rather than the end of the journey.

We will continue to look for practical ways to improve our facilities, reduce our environmental impact and make it easier for our berth holders, visitors and team to make more sustainable choices.

In fact, the next steps are already underway.

From new facilities to further improvements around the marina, we’ll continue to invest in projects that deliver genuine benefits for both our customers and the environment.

We’re incredibly proud of what our team has achieved over the past 12 months, and grateful to everyone at Parkstone Bay who has helped us get here.

The Sustainable Marina Award is recognition of that collective effort – and we’re looking forward to continuing the journey.
